RUTX11 restored to default settings.

1. After wizard 2.4 and 5Ghz as AP works properly.

2. Added new 5GHz interface as Client (station mode)

  • scanned, choosed SSID
  • then changed GeneralSetup->Channel to Auto
  • Changed AdvancedSettings->CountyCode to PL (00-World the same effects)
  • ESSID my ssid name
  • BSSID cleared because I want to roaming between APs with the same SSID
  • Save&Apply
  • wifi connected to the BSSID but local AP does not works

BTW:
Marked BSSID is not a real BSSID, it's always MAC address local wlan1 interface:

Link to troubleshoot file: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1V_n535q9ECrULfGiETwpwAvfkg82SNmD

3. When I choose for 5GHz Channel=100 (I know my SSID is on it)

  • Save
  • then Save&Apply i got this:
  • after /etc/init.d/network restart and wait about 1-2minutes i got this:
  • but iwconfig says:
  • and ofcourse local AP (RUT_F680_5G) is not visible for the clients:

 BTW:
For all interfaces in AP mode signal strength is always zero:

Link troubleshoot file: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ZtWMTNWzyFNGawEyIKdqfEQ_n_qdI6qL

4. I had few times situation when I can not connect to AP in station mode even after reboot. And other situations like for example this:

I can not reproduce those situations right now.

For me version RUTX_R_00.02.00 right now is more unstable than before.

Questions:

  1. Will wpa_supplicant option bgscan will/should work? If yes where can I write this option? When I put it to /etc/config/wirelles the option not moving to wpa_supplicant.config
  2. After switch to mac80211 WiFi driver the wpa_cli command disappeared. Will you plan restore this command? I was planning test: "wpa_cli [options] roam BSSID"

Why I asked. We want to install RUTX11 in our Automated Guided Vehicle that will drive in the factory, so we need fast (as possible) roaming between APs

Regards

Hello,

Firmware version RUTX_R_00.02.00.2 was recently released which fixes WiFi issue, please upgrade.

You can find newest firmware here: https://wiki.teltonika.lt/view/RUTXxx_Firmware

Thanks for 2.00.2. It works better. But I have still issue with this version.

Steps to reproduce:
1. No wwan interfaces for 5GHz
2. Add interface as Client Mode:

3. RUTX11 connected to SSID:

BSSID is still incorrect. For me (for ClientMode) should be BSSID of connected AccessPoint

4. Add new virtual interface as AP
5. 5GHz wireless stop working:

6. Link to troubleshoot file: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1xjsOpFdlhYge1SHgHU3u32T5ceaFpykZ

What about my previous questions?
1. Will wpa_supplicant option bgscan will/should work? If yes where can I write this option? When I put it to /etc/config/wirelles the option not moving to wpa_supplicant.config
2. After a switch to mac80211 WiFi driver, the wpa_cli command disappeared. Will you plan to restore this command? I was planning test: "wpa_cli [options] roam BSSID"
