Hello

I have a rut955 and a rut240.  Both of the devices cannot register sim on network.  I tried sim card from 2 different network providers and no win :(

I did notice that when router first boots they recognize networks even connect only for a few seconds.  Only to get State: unregistered once again.  Also cant seem to find any network operators with the scan button.

What gives?  Is network provider blocking my sim?

Hello,

Does the same SIM card work on your phone ? Also have you attached Mobile antennas ?

Yes, it works on phone.  I seem to be getting timeout error on sim state.

Maybe it needs a larger interval for sim network registration.  Talked with operator and they said they have no restrictions.

What are the product codes of your routers and in which country are you using them ?

Using them in the country el salvador country code: 503

Rut955 H7V3B0 batch no. 028 HW Rev. 1105

&

Rut240 00E000 batch no. 011 rev 0005

Im speaking with network provider and they are telling me it is very possible router has pur frequency bands blocked.  We require hspa 1900

Well this makes my first assumption correct then. You got the routers with LTE modules for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Korea, Thailand, India regions.

Supported bands for this module are:

  • FDD-LTE: B1 (2100 MHz)/B3 (1800 MHz)/B5 (850 MHz)/B7 (2600 MHz)/B8 (900 MHz)/B20 (800 MHz)

  • TDD-LTE: B38 (2600 MHz)/B40 (2300 MHz)/B41 (2500 MHz)

  • WCDMA: B1 (2100 MHz)/B5 (850 MHz)/B8 (900 MHz)

  • GSM/EDGE: 900/1800 MHz

For el salvador you need a router with different LTE mdoule. This module works in South America, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and goes by the order code RUT955 M*****/RUT240 04****

You can check for more details about supported bands in wiki page:

Hi,

We think to have the same problem. We have 955 acquired in Europe and we are trying to use them in Mongolia with the Unitel ISP.

When we check the link above about supported bands, we have the following:

FDD-LTE: B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20
TDD-LTE: B38/B40/B41
WCDMA: B1/B5/B8
GSM: B3/B8

It is not explicitly mentioned Mongolia but the possible options could be the 955 versions Mxxxxx or Pxxxxx due to the geographical location.

However, when we check this site: http://www.crc.gov.mn/en/k/2lE/1h, it states that the two possible bands are B3 and B28. If it is B3, it should work, correct even if we are using the European (Hxxxxx) version.

And it should not work in GSM in any case?

Thanks,

  Rui

Hello,

RUT955 L***** and RUT955 M***** supports B3 and B28.

It should work in with B3, but it needs to be checked with the ISP for the coverage, because different bands can be used in different locations.

For 3G Unitel uses 700, 900, 1800 and 2100 MHz and RUT950 H***** supports B1 (2100 MHz)/B5 (850 MHz)/B8 (900 MHz).

RUT955 M***** is the one that would suits your needs the best.
