Dear all,

I'd like to setup portbased QoS with RUTX09. One Ethernet Port should be used for VoIP traffic and this one has to be priorized.

Is there a sample config or can anyone give advice? I can't find anything at the manual.

Thanks;

Hello.

Surely one of my fellow engineers will answer later. But, thanks to the fact that OpenWRT is our parent Firmware you will be able to implement many of its solutions. By the moment you can check the following link to dive into the QoS of Linux Based firmwares.

https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/traffic-shaping/packet.scheduler

Please don't forget to upgrade your firmware to the latest version before proceed.

Hello, Did you solve setting your Voip in QoS? Thats exactly what I'm trying to understand. Its plugged into a ethernet port and I know its ip address.  I'm not sure if I have to enable one of the Services (LAN) or just enter the ip address in Classification Rules.  It asks for number of bytes, not kbps, so no idea what to enter. I did enable Lan and reserved 4000 kbps for up and download. This stopped everything else getting enough data ,even though the Voip wasn't being used. As you can see I'm new at all this but enjoying the learning curve. Wiki explains functions but doesn't give examples.

Hi,

QoS is currently not implemented into RUTX firmware. It will be added in the next FW release, which should be out by the end of this year.

Hi,

It's interface based. You can use it as port based together with port based VLAN. However, if you require help with that, it would be best to open a separate question.
