Hi all,

I'm using rut950 as end device for one of my rural location. The router perform exceptionally good so far with many features enabled and device is very stable

however this location have terrible power supply from main grid resulting reboot of my rut950 few times a week. recently I discovered that power issue much worst and it rebooted few times every day. I'm planning to fix the power issue using UPS / Battery but it will take at least another 3-4 months.

My question is how  bad this power instability to the router. I know there's very little chance such power outage to ruin the internal rom. but does  this device tested for such extreme situations?. Does this damage my device ?

And finally what you guys recommend for backup power ?. I was planning to attached 12v AGM battery directly and use battery tender to keep the AGM charge always. Any other alternatives like smaller battery pack for this ?

Thanks

Hi,

On RUT9xx Input voltage range is: 9 – 30 VDC (4 pin industrial socket), reverse polarity protection; surge protection >31 VDC 10us max.

For powering check this, perhaps it would be a option for you: https://wiki.teltonika.lt/view/RUT950_Powering_Options#Simultaneous_powering
