Hi,

I'm using a PPTP VPN to connect devices remotely in the UK. Lately several of these devices have stopped connecting to the PPTP VPN server they are setup as a client of, others are still working, and no configuration changes have been made on either the devices or our server.

I suspect that PPTP Protocol is now been blocked, I'm curious if there is a way on the RUT955, to check if a PPTP connection is been blocked by the ISP? As of course they deny it immediately. I can find no evidence of these devices closing ports or blocking connnections via SMS UCI commands.

I'm also aware that PPTP is not a recommended standard anymore as opposed to OpenVPN, but it suited the purpose for what it was been used for, and swapping wont be convenient or easy in the short term to resolve my issue.

Thanks,

Hello,

Please send me a troubleshoot file, which you can download by going to SYSTEM > ADMINISTRATION > TROUBLESHOOT. Before downloading it, please disable/enable PPTP VPN to make it reconnect and after that wait for a few minutes and download the file. You can send me it via private message.
