Hi,

is it possible via RMS to change a wifi PSK accross multiple devices at the same time?

eg we have 40 vehicles with the same SSID and PSK. We would like to change these via RMS rather than have to do them individually.

Hi,

  • Prepare one new backup file, with changes you need (use RMS Management -> Export -> Backup or WebUI System -> Administration -> Backup).
  • Find it or upload it to RMS files (File -> Configurations).
  • Select devices on RMS and upload backup file to them (Management -> Configuration -> Upload backup)

Note: Pay attention backup files can be uploaded only from identical devices with identical or older firmware.

Hi, sounds ok. What about the device name etc that is different in each RUTX11?

You can set names and add tags for each device on RMS.

How to set it, you can find on Teltonika wiki:

HI,

I'm still not clear with this. Each RUTX11 has a different lan subnet. They do however, share the same SSID and PSK eg mysecretpassword.

So how to I apply a psk change accross the following devices:

RUTX11-01: lan = 192.168.1.1/24,  SSID = MySIDD, PSK = mysecretpassword
RUTX11-02: lan = 192.168.2.1/24,  SSID = MySIDD, PSK = mysecretpassword
RUTX11-03: lan = 192.168.3.1/24,  SSID = MySIDD, PSK = mysecretpassword
RUTX11-04: lan = 192.168.4.1/24,  SSID = MySIDD, PSK = mysecretpassword

Surely a backup would apply the same lan/subnet?

Hi, is there any update on this, I’m new to RMS and have the same issue.

Batch applying unique ssid and psk to our fleet of RUT240’s

Cheers

Hello,

RMS has lauched RMS API, which allows to perform same tasks as in Web. Now you can have access to router CLI and from there automate updating.

Also, if you have local access to RUT240's, for changing each router wifi SSID and PSK to unique value, you can use JSON-RCP (https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT240_Monitoring_via_JSON-RPC_linux).
