Hi,

normally, a connection log looks as follows:

180N    2019-12-16 13:03:47    Mobile Data    Mobile data disconnected
179N    2019-12-13 13:03:33    Mobile Data    Mobile data connected, IP: 100.74.76.7 Telekom.de
178S    2019-12-13 13:03:23    Network Operator    Connected to Telekom.de operator
177N    2019-12-13 13:03:21    Mobile Data    Mobile data disconnected

I.e. whenever the provider force-disconnects the connection I normally get two events, one "Network Operator" event, and then a "Mobile Data" event.

In rare cases, however, the following log is observed, and our Raspberry Pi behind the RUT240 is unable to establish any connections (note: the last 2 lines are still expected behavior):

Any ideas? This is a M2M SIM card that can join any local network (Telekom, Vodafone, etc.). According to our M2M-provider, the installed SIM card contains several IMSIs.

Cheers!

Hello,

You can begin with by checking whether router have good mobile signal strength.
Mobile signal strength recommendations could be found here.
Also make sure router is running on the latest firmware version and both mobile antennas are firmly attached.

Have you checked whether same behavior appears when using standard SIM cards?
Or have you noticed is there any events after which router is having difficulties connecting to operator

Hi.

The router has good signal strength (RSSI: -55 to -57). Because the router is in a remote location that cannot easily be accessed, I cannot tell whether the antennas are still firmly connected, nor can I check standard SIM cards (nor would I want to, we need to use the SIM card already in place, to allow the router to use the strongest locally-available network). And even if I did put in a "standard" SIM card: it's not like this problem happens "on demand". In our case, this problem occurred only after several months of operation.

As for the events that occur while router is having difficulties connecting to operator: I already put them in my original post, you may have missed them?

I have just updated the firmware on that device, just to be sure.
