To get remote access to the router via OpenVPN client, I have to open the firewall to the source zone "Hotspot".

This seems wrong to me and took me quite a while to figure out.

I figured that I have to select the source zone "OpenVPN" in the firewall, But that does not work.

Is this a bug in my router? or am i missing the point?

Hello,

please share what device and firmware you are using? Or just download troubleshoot file from your device and send it to me on PM.

Thanks

I have the same issue on a RUT240 v01.12

RUT240 configured as a OpenVPN client against an OpenVPN Access Server.

Zone forwading vpn: openvpn to LAN does not work. Manual Traffic Rule has to be created that allows "Any host in hotspot toany host in VPN" for remote VPN networks to be able to access router LAN.
