My RUTX11 4G just stopped working (2 months old). I cannot connect to the router at all. The signal strength bars are blinking but stops blinking after a few minutes. No wifi is available. I replaced the SIM to try if it made any difference, but no.

How can I troubleshoot it?

Hello,

Do you try to make a connection with the router via LAN cable?

Hello,

Try to connect with LAN cable and login to your RUT device.

If unable, then you should try firmware upgrade procedure:

  • Download latest (RUTX_R_00.02.01.1) firmware file from file Teltonika wiki:

https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUTX11_Firmware_Downloads

  • Unplug all cables from the router
  • Plug in one Ethernet cable for your computer into any LAN port
  • Press and hold the reset button
  • While holding the reset button, plug the power cable into the router. After you plug in the power cable, continue holding the button for another 5 seconds
  • Release the reset button
  • Regardless of what the router's IP address was before, the IP address of the router when it's in the bootloader menu state is always 192.168.1.1.
So, in order to reach the router, you'll have to set up a static IP address that's in the 192.168.1.0/24 network (fox instance, 192.168.1.2) on your computer. Instructions for Windows are provided in the link below:

https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/Setting_up_a_Static_IP_address_on_a_Windows_10_PC

  • When set your computer's IP, you should be able to reach the router's HTTP server:

192.168.1.1/index.html

  • upload the image file and click the Update button. If everything was done correctly, the update should begin. At this point you can close the browser window. The update will take about 120 seconds.
Additional note: don't forget to restore your computer's IP address settings.
