Hello,

I'd like to know if RUT955 can output GPS position data through RS232 in NMEA 0183 format?

I found many mentions of output via network but no mentions of serial connection.

Hello,

Yes, it is possible to get GPS output through RS232. All related info can be found in this articles:

Basically, customer would need to:

• Enable GPS (Services -> GPS -> General menu)
• Enable NMEA data sending to server (Services -> GPS -> NMEA menu). For “Hostname” you should set your RUT955 LAN IP address.

 

 

• Enable RS232 Over IP server mode (Services -> RS232/RS485 -> RS232 menu).

 

• So, when you connect RS232 cable to your PC you will get GPS data output in NMEA format.
