Hi there

I have set up a Rs485 modbus gateway fine using the router ip address as the listening port (192.166.51.1)

however i would like to use a different listening IP 192.166.51.50 (out of DHCP range) for the gateway traffic

I cant connect if that is the setting, i also tried the 0.0.0.0 option, 192.166.51.7 (inside DHCP range) and 192.168.51.100 but none of these work

any suggestions or am i not doing something right?

Using FW RUT9XX_R_00.06.06.1

testing using Modscan32, i can only connect on router IP

Hello,

For which reason, you want to use other than router LAN IP? (Just trying to understand possible reasons)

Unfortunately, but you have to use router LAN IP (and set listen IP to router LAN IP or 0.0.0.0) to send Modbus TCP requests, since devices in other IP's: ***.***.**.50, ***.***.**.7 or ***.***.**.100  and etc. does not exist and TCP communication cannot be established.

I guess it was still in my thinking from having a seperate gateway device previously, but if that's how it works then no problem.

I was just testing things out and was curious what the custom option is for then?
