Hi Ian,

The Backup is used to download configuration files for your selected device(s). Backup files can be uploaded to identical devices with identical firmware.

Restore Point is a file that stores all the information about your router and can be later loaded into the router in case you lose your needed configuration.  Router can only load a restore point that was created by SAME router

Is still don't understand the difference!

Ok, the Restore Point can only be loaded on the same device, but does it contain the same information as the Backup? What is the reason to have both features?

It seams that the restoration point contains not only all configuration parameters, but also e.g. the VPN key files. Also the file sizes are very different: e.g. 2.5 MB (configuration) vs. 15 MB (restoration point)
