Howdy,

I read that Powering OE the RUT950 doesn't comply with standards (Possibility to power up through LAN port, not compatible with IEEE802.3af and 802.3at standards. Passive PoE over spare pairs.). What does this mean ? I have a Ubiquiti Toughswitch : will this work ?  Do I have to use a custom cable (i.e. not a regular cat. 6 cable) t568A or t568B ?

Thank you very much to help me clarify this question !

Hello,

Correct, Teltonika RUT9 series routers does NOT comply with IEEE802.3af and 802.3at standard. Because of that, you cannot connect RUT950 router to standard PoE equipment (Because power is supplied via different Ethernet cable pins, and standard PoE voltage might be higher then 30 V DC, which is the maximum RUT9 can handle)

Even though RUT950 does NOT comply with PoE standards, it can still be powered over Ethernet cable (only via LAN1 Ethernet port), if you would supply Voltage via correct Ethernet cable pins. You can find more information here:
