I have a RUT240 using a 4G simcard that does NOT have a public IP address (i.e. the simcard's IP address is behind the NAT of the telecom operator). On the LAN of the RUT240 I've connected an IP camera from Axis.

The outgoing data traffic is going fine: the camera uploads video clips to our back-end using the simcard.
I would like to use RMS to also access the camera (i.e. as incoming data traffic).
However, I run into an issue when trying to connect to the web-interface of the IP-camera over the remote connection via RMS.

I have registred the RUT240 in RMS, it's status is "connected", and I have access to the CLI and webGUI of the router. When logging in in CLI, I can also ping the IP address of the camera. So far, so good.

When I try to apply Actions > Access, and click on the generated link, I can see that some information is retrieved from the camera web-interface: it’s even displaying the webpage-icon from Axis, so it seems to try to load the page. But I never get to the login-screen from the camera itself. It's kind of stuck there.

I've followed all instructions on https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/How_to_configure_remote_access_to_LAN_devices_in_RMS%3F including all remote access for HTTP and HTTPS.

Upon inspection in my browser (console and network trace) I see that several Java-script files cannot be loaded and I see the following information in the web-page:

    <noscript>

      <span class='noscript-content'>

        JavaScript is disabled or not supported by the browser. To use the Axis web application, enable JavaScript.

      </span>

    </noscript>

I've tried several browsers and I can positively say they support Javascript, but this message seems to indicate that the camera’s WEB UI thinks that is not the case. Any idea what is going on?

Just to be sure: is the above application even possible using RMS? This wiki seems to imply it's possible: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/Remote_IP_camera_access_with_RUT240
but almost all articles I've read so far, use an own VPN and/or a simcard with public IP address is used.

They fix something last time, and there was a post that said maybe try readding device

Dear anonymous, could you please elaborate what you mean with "readding device"?

Hi,

There should be no issue accessing your camera. Could you post more information about the result you're getting right now? Screenshots would be appreciated.

Basic info:

The RUT modem has 192.168.0.1 defined on the LAN port…
Note: the mobile operator has defined a non-routable IP address (10.x, so it’s using NAT)

The IP configuration of the Axis camera is below:

This is how I configured the “Action” on RMS:

This is a dump of the network traffic when I connect directly to the camera (cable between PC and camera):
(dump taken from Chrome “F12”)

And this is how it looks when I try to access the camera via RMS “access”:

In this last case (via RMS), the web browser shows the Axis logo but the page itself remains blank:

Is this article applicable here as well? https://community.teltonika-networks.com/18056/javascript-ajax-not-working-in-rms-added-device
Here it's stated: "it seems in order for this to work RMS should use VPN, RMS is using MQTT to establish connection."
So without a VPN I will not be able to access this camera's landing page, because it uses Javascript?

Hi, would you be available for a remote session so RnD could check what they could do to help you with this issue?

Thank you.
