Hello, I wanted to know if RUT955 can be configured as DTE on the RS232 port. The purpose would be to connect a DCE to the RUT955 RS232 port, and thus convert the RUT955 RS232 port to another WAN port.

Thank you

Hello,

Looking from electrical side the main difference between DCE and DTE is signal directions in each device https://gridconnect.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115008733428-DB-9-Serial-Pinouts-DCE-DTE-Gender-and-Null-Modems-with-RS232

However, despite that you can connect other DCE device, you won't be able get another WAN port via RS-232, since RUT955 doesn't have functionality to use RS-232 as a modem.
