I've plugged in a 300GB SSD to the USB port on the RUTX12 and *think* that it showing up as /dev/sda

However, there's no fdisk so I can't format it.

Any tips/packages that I can install so I can format and mount in place?

Hi,

As it is best for you to use exFAT filesystem for such a big SSD drive - there are no such tools to format and check exfat in OpenWRT.

https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/storage/filesystems-and-partitions

If you want to fully reformat the filesystem you'll need a personal computer, but if it's enough for you to just delete existing partitions - you can do that with 3rd party package "gdisk". With it, you will be able to create supported partitions and delete them on mounted partition /dev/sda1.

https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/storage/usb-drives#create_a_partition_on_the_usb_disk

Hope this was helpful.
