I have a RUT950 and I am using iperf to test the connection speed between 2 devices on my network.

When 1 devices is using WiFi and the other ethernet I get <10Mbps

When both devices are using ethernet I get >90Mbps

In comparison to a much cheaper GL-iNet:

When 1 devices is using WiFi and the other ethernet I get ~40Mbps

When both devices are using ethernet I get >100Mbps

I have tried changing a few settings, namely the AP channel, transmit power and mode, I see no difference in speeds.

What can I do to improve the WiFi speeds of the RUT950?

Hello,

Regarding your issue you see there are a lot of factors that can affect WiFi Connectivity

-Physical Obstructions
-Network Range & Distance between Devices
-Wireless Network Interference
-Signal Sharing
-Network Usage & Load
-Poorly Deployed Antennas
-Local Environment Characteristics
-Spectrum Channel Limitations
-Signal Reflection
-Wireless Signal Restriction

For this case i recommend you to use a mobile application like WiFi Anaylzer from Playstore of Android and try changing the WiFi channel that the RUT is using select the channel that is not used.

Hope it helps.

Regards,

Jerome
