We have a newly bought TRB140 which we want to put in passthrough mode (or bridge mode) and still being able to remote manage it with RMS.

As far as I can tell, that should be no issue?

As soon as we put it in either bridge or passthrough mode it looses its IP and will not get a new one.
The computer I have connected to it works fine though.

If I enter CLI I cannot ping 8.8.8.8.

Hello,

using Bridge or Passthrough mode on TRB will disable most of the gateway’s capabilities (NAT, Firewall, DHCP server...). It might not show up in WebUI, but internally all these features stop working. Gateway will not have internet and that's why will not be accessible through the RMS platform.

Kind regards.

OK, so you can confirm that RMS will not work in any other mode than NAT mode?

These posts tell otherwise.

I must say this is very disappointing if you aren't able to remote access and monitor the Teltonika device when you only need it as a modem and not as a router.

Unfortunately, currently the TRB140 gateway works like this. And via RMS they are only accessible using NAT mode.
Alternatively, you can choose RUTX or RUT9XX devices because they are online on the RMS platform when Passthrough mode is active.
Or use NAT mode and activate DMZ on TRB140 page Network -> Firewall, to forward all traffic to LAN device:
