Hi,

I'm looking to get the RUTX11 installed in a campervan fitted out with a 4G sim. Because I don't want to use voice but do want to increase my chances of data connectivity in rural areas I want to use an LTE booster between the RUTX11 and the high gain LTE antenna.

The booster has a "donor" antenna SMA conector <booster> and a "service" antenna. The RUTX11 Mobile antenna connection obviously deals with signal strengths going to and from a LTE antenna. The "service" antenna side of the booster sends and receives signal strengths appropriate for a "local" 4G antenna. Can you just cut out the local antenna (to avoid 2 LTE signals interfering with one another) and directly connect the two boxes together rather than having two local antennas and then a boosted signal all on the same frequency?

This is the booster - all legal and approved on 200+ Cell networks worldwide:

Thanks in anticipation.

Hello,

I've checked the datasheet and features the booster device brings, and it's like a LTE "Repeater". If the device will improve your LTE conecction, the RUTX11 should connect automatically to this new "Local" antenna as well. (Using RUTX11 lte antenna)

Also, the best Cel-fi feature is to improve LTE signal strenght to your vehicle or other place you installed it, so you can provide a better performance to your LTE devices and not only to the RUTX11. Would you like to limit the Cel-fi device to forward data only for RUTX11?

In this case, I suggest to use a LTE antenna with a higher gain. It's important to read this link, regarding to maximun transmision power.

Thanks for the reply.

This is enough of a confirmation of my own guess that this is the way to go. All I now want to do is to see if the router accepts Wi-Fi as well as WAN and LTE as a default gateway in order of priority for routing outbound traffic. Time to RTFM :-)

Hello,

I don't understand the goal you want to achieve.

Do you want to use Wifi interface as WAN?

If so, Yes.

You can set up the "Wifi / LTE / and Wired Wan port" as Wan. Also can be configured priorities (Failover) and load balancing in case of need it, please take a look to this link:

https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUTX11_WAN#WAN

Nevertheless, if your goal is to use the Wifi interface as WAN and provide another Wifi interface to connect to clients (Hosts), it's possible to do it simultaneously.

Please let me know if this information was useful for you.

Further doubts, don't hesitate to ask us.
Regards.
