I have a rut950 and when I connect a Phillips hue hub to it, it cannot access the internet.  It is issued an IP address (this the connection to the router is good) I have various other products i.e. Yale alarm, CCTV cameras, ring doorbell etc etc which all connect and can be accessed remotely, thus I'm guessing there are no firewall issues. Any ideas what I can try please.

Hello,

For this issue of yours let me clarify first if you are connecting the philips hue hub the network on the router goes down? or you are not able to access the philips hue hub on remotely?

May i know if this philips hue hub is also having its own ip address.

Jerome

Hi

Thanks for your response (appreciate it)

When I connect the hub to the network, the router issues an IP address. The network stays up, but the hub will not connect to the internet, so no remote access.

Thanks again for your help.

Hello,

Could you test the RUT device if it is able to access the internet. If the device is able to access the internet do you know the ports and services the device use?

Hi, yes it has internet connection.

The hue hub connects via port 80.... Probably seems a silly question, but how do I check if port 80 is open?

Hello,

Sorry for the late response. So in this case you want to access the device remotely right via Router IP Address. In this case you need to do port-forwarding. You can do that on the Network > Firewall > Port-Forwarding

As an example you will do it like this:
https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/wikibase/images/e/e8/Network_firewall_port_forwarding_new.PNG

Then from that you will be able to access the Philips Hue Hub remotely via browser by entering Router Sim IP:External Port e.g 85.123.123.23:8080

Note: In order for this to work you must have a Public IP Address on the RUT device.
