Good evening,

RUTX09 has an output on 3dbi LTE antennas, to increase the power I connected new 12dbi antennas: is it possible to increase the modem output via software to give more power to the antenna?

Hi, I have rutx09 and using https://poynting.tech/antennas-accessories/antennas/farming-agricultural-antennas/xpol-2-5g/ - I'm very satisfied with results. I have almost direct visibility to cell tower that is less than 1km far away and I'm getting speeds around 200mbit/s (and sometimes more) DL and up to 40-45mbit UL, but that would most probably be a limit of my ISP - I'm using 2600 + 1800 MHz 2CA.

Nevertheless I need to say that with https://teltonika-networks.com/product/combo-mimo-mobile-roof-sma-antenna/ I was getting about 140mbit/s DL, not sure about UL. And cost here 20 EUR instead of 150 EUR for above directional antenna. I actually kept teltonika antenna as a backup one or when I'd need to take lte router with me somewhere.

Hi,

Your antenna itself defines what dBi it's going to transmit, so there's no way to increase it using the software. So in your case - you don't have to do anything.

More information could be found here: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/Third-party_Antennas

Hi,

for directional antennas with 18dbi, can you recommend a supplier?

Unfortunately, I can't. For that, you will have to do your own research.
