I am using the SOPHOS firewall and currently I use Telstra Nightawk 4G as a backup with my SOPHOS Firewall WAN connection. So that when the Primary WAN connection goes down. The LAN traffic uses the backup Telstra Nightawk 4G.

My aim is to replace the Telstra Nightawk 4G with RUT240. Can we use RUT240 as a backup like normally I do with Telstra Nightawk.

Yes, and additionally you will be able to set-up a failover not only on SOPHOS but also on RUT240 itself.

So answering your main question - yes, you will be able to use RUT240 just like Telstra as your backup WAN.
