Hello,

our Teltonika RUT240 models lost mobile network connectivity, multiple times. The device remains registered PDP context with our SIM provider (EMnify), and consulting the log files even an IP address seems to be obtained but there is no connectivity possible. Neither devices from behind the router can access the internet nor does the RUT240 appear in the RMS or is pingable or reachable via SSH or HTTPS from the outside.

Log files attached. Do you have any hints? Is this a RUT240 / RUT_OS problem or is it related to Telko operator (German Telekom) or even SIM card provider (EMnify)?

Incident happend around Wed Oct 21 18:37:44 oder maybe Wed Oct 21 19:00:00

Thanks a lot for your support, we need to track down this issue.

Hi,

Looks like Telekom rejects you for some reason. Please use Custom APN and try to manually register to the operator: Network > Mobile > Network Operators

If it still won't work - try contacting your operator and asking if there's nothing on their side that might be blocking you from connecting to their network.

Thank you very much for your answer. Can you provide the information what line in the log file tipped you off?
Who is to blame and to contact for further investigation? The telco operator (Telekom.de) or the SIM card provider (EMnify)?

Thank you!

At the end of the log, you can see the pattern that modem connects to the operator and disconnects immediately, after that it tries again over and over again.

In this case, I can't really tell who would be responsible for this instability. First I would try asking EMnify for a different SIM - if it's going to be the same issue, then you should contact Telekom.de.

Any luck here, or did you just end up chucking the router?
