Hi,

I have to update the firmware of my RUT 240 LTE first. I didn't want to use the mobile internet, cause I want not exhaust the SIM of my customer.

1.) I am connected to the RUT 240 via LAN, I can configure it using a browser, is there a way to get the firmware update using the LAN?

2.) If not, can I connect the WAN ethernet port to my local network and do the update this way?

3.) If not, is there a chance of using the WLAN locally here?

Thanks for helping.

With best regards

Gerhard

Hello,

Regarding firmware upgrade using LAN.

1.) I am connected to the RUT 240 via LAN, I can configure it using a browser, is there a way to get the firmware update using the LAN?
-> Yes you can upgrade the firmware through via Firmware file that can be downloaded here: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT240_Firmware_Downloads

Here is a short video on how to upgrade the firmware its for RUTX11 but it is same with RUT240.

2.) If not, can I connect the WAN ethernet port to my local network and do the update this way?
-> As default the main WAN Source is using Wired WAN so even if you insert a sim card on the device and connected it to your home network that is having internet connectivity it will use the wired connectivity instead of sim card.  Just insert an Ethernet cable from you main network to the WAN port of the RUT240.

You may refer to this link form ore information: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/WAN

3.) If not, is there a chance of using the WLAN locally here?
-> Wireless WAN is also available in RUT240 device you can get internet from your wireless network.

Hope it helps

Regards,
