Hi,

Could you be in more detail about what is connected and what actual data is being sent out and how it supposed to look?

is it still not enough info? Do I have to start a new question and describe it in a more understandable way?

It's a shame that the situation is not apparent from the screenshoot)). First window is the putty connection (see following screenshoot). The IP address is from our cellular network
The window in the background is the output of the COM interface of the TRB142. First string is the ok. The next string are not correct. The behavior is always different. Sometimes the output is ok, sometimes several or none at all.

Hello,

Just to clarify your use case I would like to ask one question:

You connect to your TRB142 via PuTTY terminal using serial port (COM2) and at the same time you connect via to TRB142 using IP address? Then you send data from one terminal and trying to get the same answer on the other one?

Regards.

exact. Why is the connection not stable. First string works, following strings no longer

do you have a solution or guess what it should be?

Hello,

I have done exact same test and everything worked as expected.

Have you tried to change RS232 converter cable to another one? Which firmware version your gateway currently uses? Do you have another TRB142, which can be used for testing?

I have connected to RS232 PCI card. But the connection does not work with other devices. After a few first lines it works like on the screenshot of me or not at all. The firmware is TRB1_R_00.02.05.1, but the connection did not work before the update. After reset or reboot is the same.

Firmware version     TRB1_R_00.02.05.1
Firmware build date     2020-09-30 07:22:25
Modem firmware version     EC21EUGAR06A01M4G
Kernel version     3.18.20-msm
Firmware Available On Server
Firmware version     Newest version installed on the device
Modem firmware version     EC21EUGAR06A04M4G_01.004.01.004

i have ordered a new gateway TRB142.  It works.

Should I complain about the defective gateway to the seller?

Hello,

If reflashing firmware does not fix the issue, could you also try to perform fast boot procedure to your malfuctioning TRB142. You can find instructions here: https://community.teltonika-networks.com/24536/trb-140-fw-error-after-update?show=24539#a24539

Required files here: https://we.tl/t-j8wbJAnPr5

Inside downloaded fw you fill find 2 files.

it is the same behavior after downgrade over webui to TRB1420_R_GPL_00.02.04.3_STATIC.

I need for the fastboot  *.ubi files. I got TRB1420_R_GPL_00.02.04.3_STATIC.bin with your link: Required files here: https://we.tl/t-j8wbJAnPr5

Open that file with Winrar or any extract software and use to extract kernel and root files from TRB1420_R_GPL_00.02.04.3_STATIC.bin

Then enter to fastboot mode with TRB142 and use these commands:

  • sudo fastboot flash boot_a kernel
  • sudo fastboot flash boot_b kernel
  • sudo fastboot flash rootfs_a root
  • sudo fastboot flash rootfs_b root
  • sudo fastboot reboot

it is the same behavior after fastboot.
