We have +50 RUT955 deployed in Sweden using Telia IoT as service provider. At one site we see intermittent connection problems causing connection loss for 20-30 secs every now and then, sometimes several times per hour and sometimes only twice a day. Using logread we see a lot of log entries like this:

Mon Nov 16 14:50:42 2020 daemon.notice netifd: ppp (21984): [11-16_14:39:13:070] requestRegistrationState2 MCC: 240, MNC: 1, PS: Attached, DataCap: LTE

Mon Nov 16 14:50:42 2020 daemon.notice netifd: ppp (21984): [11-16_14:39:15:631] requestRegistrationState2 MCC: 240, MNC: 1, PS: Attached, DataCap: LTE

Mon Nov 16 14:50:42 2020 daemon.notice netifd: ppp (21984): [11-16_14:39:21:358] requestRegistrationState2 MCC: 240, MNC: 1, PS: Attached, DataCap: LTE

What is the meaning of those log entries? Is ther any relation to our connection problems?

Hi,

It would mean that daemon service sends a notice that Registration state is confirmed with values MCC: 240, MNC: 1, PS: Attached, DataCap: LTE

So why do we see those log entries only for this device and not for others? Could those log entries explain connectivity issues where connection is lost or stalled for 20-30 seconds are thereafter back to normal without any other notification in the log files.

No, they wouldn't explain it. And it happens for all routers, but at different times, that does not depend on the router itself.

Could you please explain in more detail what is your use-case?

Do you have a good signal quality and your antennas are tightly attached?

How different is your set-up on this router compared to others where you don't see this message in logs?
