Hello,

I have a RUT240 router and I wonder if it is possible, since RutOS is a linux based OpenWRT system, to install the OpenWRT version of Asterisk PBX 16 on it. I just need to make single calls to my private PBX over OpenVPN, which is already running on RUT240.

If so, how can I do it?

Thank you!

Hi,

Never had any experience with asterisk, but I found there's third-party app in opkg list called luci-app-asterisk.

If that's what you're looking for then to find it and install it execute these commands CLI:

opkg update

opkg install luci-app-asterisk

Hello,

thank you for your quick answer. I checked the luci-app-asterisk but it doesn't seem to be the Asterisk PBX package.

Instead, I found this one https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/services/voip/asterisk

Unfortunately, I don't know how to install it as I don't have experience with Opkg yet

Could you please help?

Thanks a lot,

Matej

Unfortunately, RUT240 is on Chaos Calmer version of OpenWRT and it seems to be not supporting Asterisk PBX packages. RutOS on RUTX and TRB devices on the other hand has Asterisk 15th version with a lot of packages including PBX.

To install these on RUT240 you would need to go on stock OpenWRT firmware. but I can't help you with that as I can't give you steps on how to go on a different version of your device.
