Directly after factory reset the backup configuration do not have any issue with CRC.
After upgrading to firmware version TRB1_R_00.02.05.2 I´m not able to take a backup since the CRC of the .tar.gz-file is incorrect.

  1. Factory reset
  2. Upgrade with legacy firmware, do not keep settings
  3. Upgrade with latest firmware TRB1_R_00.02.05.2, do not keep settings
  4. Backup configuration
  5. Calculated CRC from backup page:
    1. MD5: 42e91be1a7dcbb4d3751cb5649c88be1
  6. Calculated CRC on file:
    1. MD5: aa48fa53fa17eb81a3ba512ff75964dd
  7. There is now a miss-match between the CRC.

When trying to unpack the tar.gz-file with 7zip I got that there is an data error in 'etc\cacert.pem', dunno if this is helpful.

It is not possible to add this file to files in RMS: "This is not a config file."

Hi,

If you're trying to use a backup from a different version of the firmware while your device is not on the same one - it will not work. If there's a mismatch, try resetting your router or reflashing without keeping the settings. Download the new backup file and see if it matches your expectations.

This is not the correct use case.

I´m downloading a new backup from the TRB141 with the web interface, on a fresh upgraded TRB141, no changes made to the unit other then the new firmware.

When the file is downloaded the CRC on the configuration file and the calculated CRC in the web interface do not match. I will also get an error in the cacert.pem if I try to unpack the tar.gz-file.

Could you please attach screenshots so we would be clear and there would be no misunderstanding where exactly is the issue?

λ certutil.exe -hashfile backup-trb3.2020-12-02.tar.gz MD5
MD5 hash of file backup-trb3.afrydm.se-2020-12-02.tar.gz:

CertUtil: -hashfile command completed successfully.

I've repeated your steps and wasn't able to reproduce the issue. The MD5 hash is identical to one in the WebUI after the backup was taken.

I did a factory reset on my TRB141 and downloaded the backup file.
WebUI MD5 'cdbab5094a2e8f3707a168295967f368'

λ certutil.exe -hashfile "backup-Teltonika-TRB141.com-2020-12-10.tar.gz" MD5
MD5 hash of file backup-Teltonika-TRB141.com-2020-12-10.tar.gz:
63a80dd9975ce948d14d9a533ee66d93
CertUtil: -hashfile command completed successfully.

They do not match even after a factory reset with the latest firmware.

Maybe you have any other of our products to test this feature on? As I'm still unable to get your results with certutil.
