Can the Rutx11 wifi as wan save a list of hotspots (previously connected to) and automatically connect to them when available, based on priority? Similar to how an iPhone falls back top cellular but when it detects a 'familiar' wifi network (previously connected to), it will automatically connect to it without intervention. In the case of the iPhone, it will save lots of known wifi connections.

Or does the Rutx11 only try to ping a single primary wifi as wan connection?

Hello,

This feature is not there in Rux series to configure multiple WIFI clients if one is already configured and you try to configure other one it will forget the previous one and you will need to reconfigure. Meaning in short it could not save wifi ssid/password it previously connected with .

For WAN failover there are 2 sims , wired WAN and Wifi WAN.

Or does the Rutx11 only try to ping a single primary wifi as wan connection? Yes right

Thank you.

Ahmed

Hello,

Would it be possible to add the Travelmate package to the RUTXnn firmware? That would solve the exact problem at hand.

Hello,

If you have a package file , you can test it yourself.

Further if you need any customization its best to contact your sales manager.

Thank you.

This functionality would be highly useful for mobile applications.  Often one travels and connects to a guest wifi.  Then returning home you want to reconnect to your home-base wifi automatically, and without having to reenter the SSID / Password.

Sometimes one wifi network can go down but another is available.  Consider a 2 wifi networks from the same source, but 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz.  It would be useful to connect to that secondary network automatically while reserving cellular connection as a tertiary backup.  Some users just want the function without having to learn how to program and compile.

Hello,

I have compiled Travelmate for the RUTX11, looks good for the moment but needs more testing.

From the SDK: ./scripts/feeds install travelmate, make menuconfig enable travelmate, make, copy the package, install. Manual config only.
