We have tested the RUT955 NTP Server time sync compared to other device that support both PTP master and NTP Server.

The other device (PICO3 which have also GNSS receiver) NTP server had show steady (no drift) sync to GNSS UTC time with delta of ~0.7 ms vs PTP synced clock.

The RUT955 was configured to sync to GNSS UTC every 5 Min (minimal setup time).

Does there is API that allow to trigger NTP server time sync to GNSS UTC ?

The testing was done for 6000 seconds, results in the image below.

There was quite steady drift of NTP clock vs UTC from GNSS of ~0.002 sec for 50sec =  0.012msec/5min  = ~3.4 sec/day

We saw that the sync to GNSS UTC isn't reset correctly the NTP server time to UTC time (as can be seen in the few jumps in the middle of the image)

Are you aware of this issue with the NTP Server sync to GNSS UTC time ?

Hello,

Could you tell me which firmware version you are using on your RUT955? Also, please post all configuration settings of RUT955 here. I will forward your research to our RnD department to investigate.

Regards.

Hello,

Thank you for the information, could you try to update your firmware to RUT9XX_R_00.06.07.5 and test it more? We do always recommend testing our router's features using the latest firmware version because some of the issues could be already fixed related to your use case.
