Hello,

I have EE,O2,VIRGIN and giffgaff.  I have tested them all on their own with a Netgear nighthawk 2 with no ariel.  I get on average 27mbs down and 15mbs up across all sims, I ran 5 tests on each and took the average.

I then added each sim into the RUTX12 and over the same testing parameters got 11mbs and 6mbs download.  I have tried using the standard ariels and also Poynting 2x2 nimo on the roof all with the same results.

Netgear https://ibb.co/3sz4LQx

RUTX12 https://ibb.co/zHBBMgQ

If I add 2 sims on load balancing I get 10mbs down and 10mbs up.  If i connect to the wifi 2g i get 4.5mbs down and 2mbs up

Am I missing something?

It's a forgivable mistake comparing the two. But they are indeed not comparable as reactiv says. Heres a chart I grabbed from google. Teltonika doesn't make a cat 20 device. But I'd rather deal with the slower speeds of an RUTX12 than the configuration limitations, buggy WiFi and closed source of the Netgear Nighthawk.

Hi

The RUTX12 is a dual CAT6 Modem device. LTE-A CAT6 defines a maximum of two carrier bands which can be added together and no more. You are comparing something very different. The specification page for the Netgear Nighthawk M2(if this is the router you have?) states:

Supports 4GX LTE Advanced Category 20 with up to 5-band Carrier Aggregation

Using the poynting 2x2 MIMO is the correct idea, depending on your location of use the OMNI version is best for 95% of users.

Note also, the design premise of the RUTX12 is more about seamless failover than increasing bandwidth.

Also note 4G/5G suffers from network contention and speed tests even with a perfect antenna setup installed in a clean RF environment you will see a large variance in speeds based on time of day/number of users connected to cell.
