I hope someone can help.

I've recently bought a new RUT955 and I was able to connect to the web interface and change the password etc. However suddenly, I am no longer able to reach the login page.

I set a static IP on my laptop, 192.168.1.2/24 with gateway 192.168.1.1. I can ping 192.168.1.1 no problem and I can reach the firmware update page. After much troubleshooting, I flashed the firmware (RUT9XX_R_00.06.07.5_WEBUI.bin) but the issue remains. Following help documents, I should flash the bootloader next, however I have been unable to find any images in the help documents and when I try to use the firmware file (Which is all I can find) in the bootloader menu, I get an error.

I connected to the routers Wifi and tried accessing the web interface but the same issue - error "192.168.1.1 refused to connect"... "ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED". This is the same error when connecting with Ethernet.

I have tried multiple browsers and computers and the problem remains. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

https://kaunas.teltonika.lt:444/f/fd11c75e15ff4515b295/?dl=1

Please use this bootloader image when updating the bootloader.

Also, could you describe all the LEDs and what are they showing right now?

Any pattern or anomaly that you can find is welcome.

HI,

Thanks for the uboot file. I have now flashed the device using the uboot file but I still cannot access the web interface. I also tried accessing it over wifi but have the same problems.

The LEDs are as follows.

  • Power light: Solid green
  • LAN 1: Flashing green when in use.
  • Aerial: Flashing green and red (There is no SIM in the device, SIMs arrive today if required)
I'm still able to ping the router.
Pinging 192.168.1.1 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Ping statistics for 192.168.1.1:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms

I can't find any patterns unfortunately. Before the issue first occurred, I disabled IPv6 and configured APN settings in the device. I should also say that during the initial setup, on entering a password for the admin account I received an error and had to reboot the device. On power up, the default credentials didn't work, so I tried the new password and I was able to login.

I welcome other suggestions?

Thanks!

- Have you tried another computer?

- Have you tried another cable?

- Have you tried reaching some kind of other router WebUI?

Also, you can try checking if ssh is available, use Putty software to access the SSH, use root login credentials.

Hello,

Have you tried both http://192.168.1.1 and https://192.168.1.1 ?

Hi EB,

Yes, I have tried different computers and different cables, I checked all the basics before flashing the firmware in the hope it was something silly.

When I enable wifi on my laptop, I am able to hit my home router's web interface using the same gateway IP. I've cleared all my cache and even installed Firefox which I have never used before to ensure it wasn't browser related.

When connecting to the RUT over Ethernet, I can reach the firmware upgrade and bootloader page entering 192.168.1.1/index.html and 192.168.1.1/uboot.html, it seems the RUT is only blocking port 80 traffic. I'll look at running wireshark to see what it captures.

I also tried both http & https, but it made no difference.

I tried to SSH into the router but get "port 22: Connection refused". I did not get the chance to enable SSH before the problems started.

Appreciate all the suggestions so far.

SSH should be reachable by default if you're locally trying to connect, only remote access is disabled.

Could you please send me your serial number via private messages? We will try connecting through RMS and see if it's possible to reach it that way.

Never mind, I figured it out.
