Hi,

it seems that with the latest update the backup files are not restorable anymore.

I tried to restore a backup to a new device (upgraded to the 06.07.5)

The source had the same firmware but it says: Please select a file.

The backup files are much bigger than before (about 2MB) and not 600-700k

It seems this is caused by a recursive backup of the config files.

You can find a default.tar.gz in /etc/profiles

and it contains a config.tar.gz in /etc/default-config

this then contains a defaults.tar.gz in /etc/profiles

repeating over and over (5 times) until the default-config files are there:

\etc\profiles\

default.tar.gz\etc\default-config\config.tar.gz\etc\profiles\

default.tar.gz\\etc\default-config\config.tar.gz\etc\profiles\

default.tar.gz\etc\default-config\config.tar.gz\etc\profiles\

default.tar.gz\etc\default-config\config.tar.gz\etc\profiles\

default.tar.gz\etc\config\

This is a very server problem as the backup files are basically unusable.

Is there any way to fix this?

Hi,

Did you try with backup files with less size? Is it happening for all the backup files? Or only to this one with 2mb?

Regards.

I've created backup files on several devices now.

Firmwares vary 06.06.1 / 06.07 / 06.07.4 and 06.07.5

They all are creating backup files larger than 2MB.

If I try to restore the old backup files with 700kb everything is ok.

I have one device with a 06.06.1 Firmware that generates 200k Backup files.

When I check there is no additional default-config folder in /etc/profiles/default.tar.gz

I'll check if the folder is in the filesystem as well.

Hi,

I've tested Backup files for a long term and them can't be bigger than 2MB, 1.8MB approximately.

If possible, try to leave only the necessary files in your backups.

It applies for RUT9x and RUT2x series that I tested.

Regards.
