Using RUT240 & SNMP monitoring over SNMP v2 and querying OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.48690.7.1.0 & 1.3.6.1.4.1.48690.7.2.0 both are reported "down" even though they are up.

Two RUT240 routers tested with firmware 1.12.3 & 1.13.

Why is this behaviour observed? Bug?

Hello,

For this issue of yours I would like you to refer to this link for the variables that can be obtain by SNMP.

The said OID numbers are not mentioned here: RUT240 SNMP - Teltonika Networks Wiki (teltonika-networks.com)

But it is supposed to give the ethernet status as what is mentioned here: SNMP configuration example - Teltonika Networks Wiki (teltonika-networks.com)

So for this I will check with the team and get back to you.

Update:

Just received feedback from HQ you need to specify this OID for port status:

.1.3.6.1.4.1.48690.7.3.0 -> port1 status

.1.3.6.1.4.1.48690.7.4.0 -> port2 status

Thank you and have a nice day!

Thank you for this feedback!

The MIB-file provided translates
"Ethernet (WAN) port status" to 1.3.6.1.4.1.48690.7.1.0
and
"Ethernet (LAN) port 2 status" to 1.3.6.1.4.1.48690.7.2.0

the device is responding to:

iso.3.6.1.4.1.48690.7.1.0 = STRING: "down"

iso.3.6.1.4.1.48690.7.2.0 = STRING: "down"

iso.3.6.1.4.1.48690.7.3.0 = STRING: "up"

iso.3.6.1.4.1.48690.7.4.0 = STRING: "up"

If ...7.3.0 is port 1 (I would assume WAN since the MIB tranlates WAN to port 1, but my tests show that ...7.3.0 is LAN)
and ...7.4.0 is port 2 (I would assume LAN since the MIB translates LAN to port 2, but my tests show that ...7.4.0 is WAN)
You probably should correct the MIB & the question is what the values returned on ...7.1.0 & ...7.2.0 represent?

When testing with a RUT240 connected over cellular and only LAN connected, I get the following response:

iso.3.6.1.4.1.48690.7.1.0 = STRING: "down"

iso.3.6.1.4.1.48690.7.2.0 = STRING: "down"

iso.3.6.1.4.1.48690.7.3.0 = STRING: "up"

iso.3.6.1.4.1.48690.7.4.0 = STRING: "down"

Hi Erik,

Sorry for the very late reply here is a test firmware + the additional package required to fix this SNMP issue. There is no specified time yet for the master firmware release that is containing this fix.

You can download the firmware + the package that needs to be installed for the fix at this link:
