I have a single network using the WAN and SIM1 interfaces on RUTX11. I want to configure the router so that a single device uses the WAN interface only and all other devices use the SIM1 interface, by default, but fail over to the WAN interface should the SIM1 connection fail. Is this possible? If so, could you let me know how to set this up?

Hello,

I think a similar use case to yours was discussed already here: https://community.teltonika-networks.com/21805/rutx09-policy-base-routing-for-dual-wan?show=21805#q21805

Hope it helps, if not please inform me so I could explain more.

Regards.

Thanks VykintasKuzma, I had already looked at that topic but I don't believe it matches my scenario. Olivier mentions multiple VLANs and LAN interfaces but I don't have that, I have a single LAN, a single subnet and a single connection from switch to router.

Hi,

To accomplish your use case, you will need to create 2 LAN's and 2 port-based VLAN's. Each LAN interface should be assigned to a different VLAN and each LAN will use different interface (SIM and Wired)

Thanks VykintasKuzma, that's not quite what I was hoping to achieve but at least I know it is a limitation in the device rather than a lack of understanding on my part.

Thank you again for your advice.

Regards
