Hello there,

I am not able to connect through openCPN (or other programs) with the GPS from my RUT955.

The GPS is working properly because my location is visible on the GPS page of the router.

Does someone have any suggestions?

Hi,

Could you tell me the full use-case of RUT955 GPS with these programs? This will not work directly with your computer unless you're sending GPS data from RUT955 to some kind of program that has NMEA collecting and parsing.

But from your post, I understood that you're using it in some other manner.

Hello EB,

Thank you for your fast respond, I'm using the NMEA Forwarding function/TCP.

Im trying to collect the NMEA data from the router and use it in openCPN, but I don't get it to work.

Even with another NMEA "sniffer" than openCPN I cannot see any NMEA data from the router.

Try using Hercules server and see if the data comes to you.

Also with Hercules I can't get any NMEA data.

The pinging isn't working too.

Hi,

Is 192.168.1.9 your computer IP? Does Hercules bind itself to that IP? Also you're using TCP Client and not server I see, you must run the server and NMEA will send its information to that IP.

You might also need to disable firewall on your PC.

Wait, that worked!

I was thinking that the router was the "server" and openCPN (or Hercules) the "client".

So now I changed the hostname to the local IP of this computer, and it worked!

Thank you very much!
