Hi, all

I need help setting up a new UniFi Dream Machine. I want the UDM to be DHCP but it doesn't see any internet when connected to the TRB140 when it's set up with DHCP off. I believe setting the TRB140 up in bridge mode will fix it but wanted to ask the gurus on here as to how to do it properly before making a mess of it

TIA

David

Hi,

Yes, you can try setting it up as bridge or passthrough mode and see if then you're able to get your UniFi connected to the internet. Choosing bridge or passthrough should be your decision, as it depends on do you want to share your WAN IP to the UniFi or not.

Also, Bridge or Passthrough modes will disable most of the TRB140 capabilities such as control over networks, VPN's and such.

Thanks, EB.

I don't have it in front of me but I'll give it a go tomorrow (Oz time).

Just to reiterate... From factory, the TRB140 has DHCP on. I go to the settings and choose passthrough / bridge. I'm assuming this switches DHCP off by default. Then I can set up the UDM as per normal.

I'll post how I get along tomorrow
