Question

I have a RUT950 set up with a SIM card of the German "blau" provider. In the area connectivity is rather instable so it seems the router connects using 4G at times, but frequently also 3G or 2G. Also, the logs show that every couple of hours (often after ~4h) mobile data is disconnected, then gets reconnected.

Now from time to time it seems that the router is not reacting anymore at all and not re-establishing mobile data connection. I have noticed this because there is one system attached which sends a daily summary email and that suddenly stopped working. For example that happened on April 30 - until the day before an email was sent each day at 8:12pm, then on April 30 that stopped. On May 3 I connected locally using the Web UI and copied the logs, but they leave me clueless as to what the reason might be.. I finally powered off the device and after a restart the next day it started working again. However, meanwhile that doesn't help anymore either.

Any ideas? Is the device likely to be broken?

Hi,

I need some more input to this. Could you tell me which version of the firmware you're using? If it's not the latest - please update it as it might contain a lot of fixes.

Then, have you tried any other SIM card than "Blau"? Idea here is to see if there's the same thing going with another operator.

If anything from above didn't help you, try resetting the device through bootloader menu by installing the firmware again:

And lastly, check if you're using custom APN and band locking, it could help you get more stability with the connection.
