Hi all!

Im using Omron PLC's in my automation projects and I would like to communicate directly with PLC's from my laptop.

I know that it's easy to communicate with remote desktop protocol, but I don't have remote PC's in all of my projects. That's why I need to communicate from My Programming laptop to -> RUT955 -> to LAN with PLC's. Is this possible somehow with teamviewer VPN or something?

Thank you all in advance,

BR,

Hi,

Does your PLC have some kind of HTTP UI that runs on some kind of port or is it just console-based?

There are a few ways to do it.

You can port forward to your PLC port (this will require Public IP on your SIM to access from outside WAN):

https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT955_Firewall#New_Port_Forward_Rule

Then you can use VPN, the easiest VPN for this would be ZeroTier. Connect to RUT955 ZeroTier from any device and reach the PLC in the LAN with it:

https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/ZeroTier_Configuration

And lastly RMS, with it and its Remote Access function you will also be able to connect to your LAN devices (of course if they have some kind of HTTP UI's running).
