Hi,

We need to connect to a WIFI with WEP protocol in order to create a WAN Station, but the RUT240 gives us no choice (firmware RUT2XX_R_00.01.14).

Do we need to download an older version?

Thanks

Hello,

WEP protocol was removed a long time ago because it is not a secure encryption standard. You could try to use RUT2XX_R_00.01.10 firmware but I do not recommend using outdated firmware because it may have other flaws.

Hi,

What is the process to install an older version?

Thanks!

Hi,

I found out that WEP was removed exactly with the RUT2XX_R_00.01.12 version, so you could download the RUT2XX_R_00.01.11.3 version from https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT240_Firmware_Downloads

Then log in to your router WebUI, navigate System > Firmware. Select upgrade from file option.

Regards.

Hi,

I have some problem to install an older version...I'm logged as default profile. Some solution?

Thanks!

In this case, then I would like to suggest upgrading from a command line.

Upload the firmware to your router temp folder (you can use WinSCP or similar program): https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/Upload_%26_Download_Files_from_RutOS

Then log in to your router command-line interface and use command:

sysupgrade -F file_destination/file_name

-F argument should force the installation without validation. You can learn more about sysupgrade by using command sysupgrade -help

Hi,

In which directory should we leave the firmware file exactly? No temp folder appears.

Thanks.

There is a folder called tmp, please upload firmware there.

And command to force sysupgrade -F file_destination/file_name will be:

sysupgrade -F /tmp/RUT2XX_R_00.01.11.3_WEBUI.bin ?

Many thanks!
