FW VERSION RUT9_R_00.07.00

Hi,

I have setup an access point and a client wireless interface on my RUT955. The problem is that when the client connection goes offline, the access point also disappears.

I added the client wireless using the scan button so would expect this to work out of the box.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Rob

Hi, Rob,

I couldn't reproduce your issue. Client wifi configuration stays there when connection goes ofline or even router restarts.
For testing purposes I would advice to reset router to factory settings and check if it solves the issue. Before that please make a configuration backup to not lose your previous system settings.

Instruction how to create a backup file added in this wiki link.

Best regards.

Hi,

I've had a chance to test this again while out of range of my WiFi. As before the access point goes offline ( running but 0% signal) when the client WiFi can not be reached. I've found that if I connect via the wired LAN I can see both WiFis are offline and if I disable the client WiFi then the access point comes back online.

Hi, Rob,

I have set up my RUTX11 in a topology as in your given example, but no luck to recreate your situation - after wan cable is connected all networks working fine with no disconnections.
To solve this issue I suggest to try:
- Upgrade firmware to the newest possible version;
- In "Network" - "Interface section" set WAN interface as prior interface, WIFI client as one of lowest.
If these steps does not solve the issue, reset device to factory reset or even better write firmware in bootloader (instruction bellow) and please inform if it helps.

In case problem still persist, please generate a troubleshoot file and sent it by private message.

Thanks Sigitas,

I'll send a troubleshooting file as I'm on the latest firmware and have tried resetting to factory many time.

BTW, it's RUT955

Thanks
