one question, could I use my RUTX11 which is set up for Europe also in my RV when travelling through North America / Canada. Do I need to use a european SIM or could I use a local SIM from there?

Hello. You have to check if the bands of your rutx11 are supported in that travel area. The internal modem has different bands for different parts of the world depending on the band usage of the local operators.
