My new rut360 (using an external antenna) on a speed test is only 1/3 (25Mbts) the speed of my iPhone 8 (87Mbts) using 4G

Hello, Darron,

Your iPhone 8 depending on the version has LTE Cat.12 or Cat.16 module while RUT360 uses LTE Cat.6. In this link, you can find detailed information and tips.

Also, try making a few tests and check the average speeds, they may vary because of the environmental conditions, just be careful, making LTE speed tests consume a lot of data. When doing tests make sure that other applications are not consuming data as well and your both antennas are connected.

Hi thanks for the swift reply I was expecting more from the rut 360 in terms of speed with a theoretical speed of upto 300mbps looking at my settings and carrier aggregation says it’s only single can I change this or is t automatic ?

Watching the mobile info on the WEBui it seems to go in and out of dual and single band 1 and band 3 is this normal ??

Hello,

I would like to ask if you could try to lock your router to certain bands? Please Navigate WebUI > Network > Mobile page: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT360_Mobile#SIM_card_settings Set Band selection to Manual and select your preferred bands.

Regards.

My RUT955 does the same, in a building with vodafone 4g coverage my iphone does 80-90mbps when with same SIM card the RUT955 gets maximum 27mbps

Signal is -52 all lights on at signal

It’s a shame to advertise up to 150mbps when it does 27-28mbps slower than a phone.

Same here, but  the difference is much bigger.

On the phone (IPhone 11) it is 157,8 download

On the rut 240 it is 18,8 download.

Are there no settings to influence the speed ?
by

Hello,

To begin with, IPhone 11 has a far more advanced LTE Cat 19 modem with download speeds of up to 1.6Gbps compared to the LTE Cat 4 in RUT240 capable of download speeds of up to 150Mbps. The differences are certainly deeper including additional features and signal processing techniques, which allow to achieve better performance in identical conditions.

Nonetheless, you can try a couple of things, which might help to improve your situation.

Some improvement can be expected, however, there are several factors impacting mobile connectivity performance. The following site provides more details: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/LTE_Speed_Discrepancies.
