We have a router setup to read Modbus data and to send it via MQTT. Is there a way we can save the data to memory using the USB interface? (If we installed a USB memory stick)? Ideally we want to use the USB memory as a backup to negate any loss of data.

Having done what you are looking for, on RUT955 + official openwrt. Needs some custom coding, of course.
