We have been using the RUT950 and PPTP VPN to connect to a virtual windows server

Now all of a sudden the following error appears:

connection between the VPN server and the VPN client 31.161.144.246 has been established, but the VPN connection cannot be completed. The most common cause for this is that a firewall or router between the VPN server and the VPN client is not configured to allow Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) packets (protocol 47).

I have checked the firewalls etc and everything looks ok to me.

Can anyone help please?

thanks

Hello,

In case your RUT950 operates as a PPTP client, no outgoing connection should be blocked by the router since it is an outbound traffic (LAN to PPTP). Do you by any chance recall what has been done (changed the configuration or something) before it no longer can establish a "complete" PPTP connectivity with a virtual Windows server? Also, what is the current version of the router's firmware?
