Hi there,

It seems you have an issue with the https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/How_to_set_up_a_guest_WiFi_network_on_RUTX instructions provided for creating Guest Wifi.

At least for RUTX12 with latest firmware version RUTX_R_00.07.00, the end result is that Guest Wifi created according to the instructions provided in the link above, guest hosts are able to access the router WebUI.

This should not be case. Also, the screenshots in the wiki do not match the UI in the latest version of said product.

Could you please provide an update to the wiki instructions, so that a safer Guest Wifi can be created.

Thank you.

Hi,

I've checked guest wi-fi setup guide and if you're running Advanced mode then there's only few slight visual differences but configuration fields themselves are identical.

The most probable reason why your current setup doesn't work is because there were was an issue with firewall configuration via WebUI on RUTOS 7.0. Upgrade your RUTX FW to RUTOS 7.1 and if you've followed configuration steps closely then guest wi-fi setup should be working.

Let me know if FW upgrade resolves your issue.

Best regards,

Martynas

Hi, SergeiV,

RUTOS 7.1 firmware was temporarily removed due to IPsec issues with mobile connectivity.

I'll update you when firmware with a fix will be available.

I am trying to do the same with my RUTX10 and the guide located here https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/How_to_set_up_a_guest_WiFi_network_on_RUTX does not match the WebUI in my RUX10 with the latest firmware.

Advice is appreciated please.

Could you specify the parts of the configuration guide you have trouble with?

Also, you could try hotspot feature, which can be accessed by going to Network -> Hotspot. If it is not available, you might need to download an additional software package. Just go to Services -> Package manager and add Hotspot.

Once you have entered Hotspot configuration section, here is how to configure it:

  • Select Wi – Fi interface you want to use for hotspot and press Add;
  • To be able to enable the hotspot instance, you might need to create Local users, who can connect to the hotspot or select a different Authentication mode, such as MAC auth;
  • Make sure Hotspot uses different subnet than your LAN.
  • You can setup hotspot password, users group, Landing page details, etc.
  • Once done, press Save & apply;
  • Now go to Network -> Wireless and press pencil icon next to the interface you have selected for your Hotspot to enter editing window;
  • In Network line, select No network, press Save & apply;

You should now be able to connect to the hotspot with internet access without the possibility to access router‘s Web interface in the local network.

Hotspot configuration details are provide in the link below:
