I think I did not properly update the FW on my TRB140. I updated to  TRB1_R_00.07.00 some time ago and now updated to TRB1_R_00.07.01. I used the web interface to update directly from the server both times. I do not remember what FW version was running before the first update.

I have now noticed that the kernel version is 3.18.20-msm and not the expected 5.4.141. Kernel 3.18.20-msm seems to have been part of the FW TRB14X_R_00.02.03.2, so I don't think I should have followed https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/TRB140_Legacy_FW_Upgrade_Instructions

How can I now properly install the latest FW with kernel 5.4.141?

Hello,

Please download the older firmware files from our Wiki: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/TRB140_Firmware_Downloads

Download the TRB1_R_00.02.06.1 firmware file and upgrade your router FW from the file again with this version. After that, please gradually upgrade your TRB from file to TRB1_R_00.07.00 and TRB1_R_00.07.01 FW.

Regards.

Thank you for the fast reply. I followed your advice, downloaded the files and installed them in the following order, always setting "Keep settings" to "off":

1. Downgrade to TRB1_R_00.02.06.1

2. Upgrade to TRB1_R_00.07.00

3. Upgrade to TRB1_R_00.07.01

The WebUI always correctly reported the expected FW version after installing the firmware.

The result is that the TRB140 is still running kernel 3.18.20-msm with FW version TRB1_R_00.07.01.

Hello,

I must inform you that TRB140 did not receive a kernel update with the 7.1 firmware update and we will fix the changelog in the Wiki.

Regards.

Does that mean that the TRB1_R_00.07.01 firmware should be running kernel 4.14.221 as mentioned in the changelog for TRB1_R_00.07.00? Or is kernel 3.18.20-msm the coorect kernel version?
