Thanks

How do I add custom files like "/etc/config/dhcp"?

I tried to add this folder "rutos-ipq40xx-rutx-gpl/files" but files are not added to the image

Any clues?

Thanks again

Works for me. Create the file as files/etc/config/dhcp, be sure to set the owner:group and permissions correctly.

ok I must be doing something wrong then :( - what do I set the ower:group to on my build root?

The path is not correct, your files are in files/config and files/dropbear you must put them in files/etc/config and files/etc/dropbear.

Argh thx let me try that :)

Thanks it seems to work :)

Can I keep original configs and only overwrite the specific files I have in "files/xxx"?

It seems only to work if I uncheck "Keep all settings after firmware update" - but then all the other settings like simcard stuff is gone?

No, the upgrade does an implicit backup, flash then restore the backup and that will overwrite /etc/config files with the originals.

Solution: don't keep settings but be sure to have everything set in files/etc files/root ...
