Hey, really hoping someone here can help as I'm at my wits end. I've followed all steps suggested elsewhere and have had no luck so far.

The situation:

I have a new RUT955, and a SMARTY SIM (Three network) in it. I receive no data unless I disable 4G (running in 2G+3G or 3G only modes works, 4G, or 3G+4G doesn't). When I reset into 4G+3G I sometimes receive data for 10-15 seconds and can ping out to the DNS/any website, however this connection suddenly fails and no further data is received. Pings come back as '100% packet loss.'

So far I have reset to factory conditions, updated the firmware, changed to manual APN, changed to manual DNS (using Google's 8.8.8.8), made mobile the primary connection. No change at any point.

Meanwhile my iPhone SIM (EE) works perfectly in the router, and the SMARTY SIM works perfectly in my iPhone.

I'd be eternally grateful for any help available!

Hello,

Thanks for contacting TELTONIKA | Crowd-support forum.

Try to restore device to manufacturer's default settings again. After perform factory reset, please keep service mode, Band selection, APN and DNS on mode Auto.

Please find below the link for more details about factory reset via WebUI.

https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT955_Backup#Restore_default_settings

If the problem persists, send me the troubleshooting file in Private Message. The troubleshooting file can be downloaded from SYSTEM > ADMINISTRATION > TROUBLESHOOT and then click on download troubleshooting file.

Keep the SMARTY SIM card as the default SIM during the process.

More information can be found here:

Hey, thanks for this. The factory reset and running in auto did not improve anything unfortunately. I've sent over the troubleshooting files I have. Cheers

Hello there,

I have experienced this with a smarty sim - It was used in my last Rut950. It worked for about 9 months then I could only connect to 2G which apparently smarty do not support. I was connected, 2 G with DATA based on the LED blinking. This connection was pretty good until 48 hours later. The flashing lights stating no sim bad sim. I don't know if this is an issue with SIM trays or with smarty/three. Apparently, from what I can deduce from the internet, the sim trays do have a habit of not lasting.

While trouble shooting I though if it is the tray then I can set tray 2 to default pop in the sim and it should work - tray 2 has never had a simcard inserted. Again I get the same problem bad sim no sim. I have been onto smarty support and have their APN and still nothing. Smarty say that it is not them, but like the OP the smarty card works in a phone and any other SP sim works in the box.

With that said I had a new 955 arrive yesterday I will see how this performs on the smarty network - all is good for now running FW 6.08.5. Struggling with OVPN but everything else works just fine!

I'm keen to hear how this is resolved as I maybe able to get a few more working.

Hello ,

I checked the troubleshooting file and don't find any problem from the router side.

Please try to lock the SIM card to use a single operator.

 https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT955_Mobile_(legacy_WebUI)#Network_Operators

Additionally, check all the mobile settings as APN and authentication (PAP, CHAP and Username\Password) with mobile operator.

If the above instructions would not help, try to update fm version to the latest one 'RUT9_R_00.07.01.1'

Hi Med,

I've sent another PM with more troubleshooting logs as that hasn't worked, sadly.

Hello ,

From the troubleshooting file I can see that there are different name servers:

Thu Dec 16 22:07:10 2021 daemon.info dnsmasq[5018]: using nameserver 8.8.8.8#53

Thu Dec 16 22:07:10 2021 daemon.info dnsmasq[5018]: using nameserver 8.8.4.4#53

Thu Dec 16 22:07:10 2021 daemon.info dnsmasq[5018]: using nameserver 172.31.139.16#53

Thu Dec 16 22:07:10 2021 daemon.info dnsmasq[5018]: using nameserver 172.30.139.16#53

Please try to execute the following command cat /tmp/resolv.conf.auto and then enter DNS manually.

Best regards,
