After performing a firmware (9XX_SM_00.01.194) update the device (RUT950 -101030) has gone into the safe mode. How do I get back to normal mode?

I have read articles that say that the boot loader needs to be updated. Where do you get the boot loader from?

Hello,

Correct, in this particular situation device bootloader would need to be updated first before making any other actions with this device.

Bootloader file can be downloaded from here: https://community.teltonika-networks.com/?qa=blob&qa_blobid=1500195489599370932

Here is detailed step-by-step instructions how to upgrade router's bootloader and firmware:

  • First of all please set static IP address on your network interface (e.g. 192.168.1.10)
  • Use private/incognito Web browsers window with cleared/disabled cache

  • Power on the device while holding reset button. Flashing all 4 Ethernet LEDs indicates that bootloader’s webserver has started.
  • Access router via web browser http://192.168.1.1/uboot.html
  • Upload new bootloader's fw "uboot_for_tlt_rut9xx_3.0.1_webui".
  • Wait few minutes. Routers LEDs should stop flashing. Only LED with LAN cable connected to that port should be active.
  • Power off the device.

  • Power on the device while holding reset button again.
  • Access router via web browser http://192.168.1.1/index.html
  • Upload new router's firmware "RUT9XX_R_00.06.08.5". This is the latest firmware version for this particular device, which can be downloaded from here: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUT955_Firmware_Downloads
